Building a web directory
Sunday, 07.01.2007, 12:20pm
First, the name. There are around 10000 directories on web. Many are
very old, powerful, with huge traffic, very good advertised and have
lots of people behind them. That means you need an original name. "Free
Web Directory" is already taken, so think deeper. Let's take, for
example, my "My Green Corner". Well, it definitely has originality. It
sounds good, it's one of a kind, and I could go on with all the hype.
But here are the bad things: 3 words, very long domain name and not
quite a directory name as well. Hmm, the first letter is very, very bad
chosen too. In front of "m" co

Six Steps To Increase Your Website's Traffic Flow Quickly
Sunday, 07.01.2007, 12:20pm
What do I need to do to my website after I finish it? Can I just leave
it alone now that I'm done? No! If you want your site to be successful
then you must generate a steady flow of website traffic to your site
every day. If no one ever visits your website, then there is very
little chance of it ever possibly growing or generating any income. It
will die without traffic. This is the one hard and fast rule in
generating any kind of potential income for your website.

Most people get confused about which kind of printer to purchase. Here
are some basic questions you should ask before buying one.
What kind of printer should I buy ? The kind of printer you should buy
depends on what you need to print out. If you only need to print
documents such as simple reports and spreadsheets, letters, or copies

Fraud Online don’t be ignorant to the threat
Sunday, 07.01.2007, 12:19pm
If you use a computer in today’s world you are probably bombarded with
at least 20 efforts a day in your inbox to part you from vital
information or money in some sort of internet scam or identity theft or
password phishing site.
Make a list of all the sites where critical data is potentially given
out i.e. banking online, paying bills online etc. Carefully find all
the websites that these relate to and bookmark them. This prevents you
using any disguised links that may arrive in an email.

Computer Virus History
Sunday, 07.01.2007, 12:18pm
A computer virus is a self-replicating computer program written to
alter the way a computer operates, without the permission or knowledge
of the user.
Elk Cloner is credited with being the first computer virus to appear
"in the wild" -- outside the single computer or lab where it was
created. Written in 1982 by Rich Skrenta, it attached itself to the
Apple DOS 3.3 operating system and spread by floppy disk. The first PC
virus was a boot sector virus called (c)Brain, created in 1986 by two
brothers, Basit and Amjad Farooq Alvi, Pakistan. The brothers
reportedly created the virus to deter pirated copies of software they
had written.
