It seems that Audi's North American customers won't be able to help the world get a little bit greener. Speaking in an interview to the AutoWeek magazine, Audi's executive vice president Johan de Nysschen said that his company has eventually canceled plans of importing a hybrid version of the Q7 full-size crossover SUV. It just won't make any profit with the dollar in its current shape.

Instead, AutoWeek is reporting, there will be a diesel-powered Audi Q7 available by the end of 2008, and a hybrid version of the upcoming Audi Q5 crossover, which "has always been in planning". The problem is that by the beginning of the next year dollar may very well hit the new lows against the Euro, making Audi re-consider its plans once again.
